Deep Épée Cup
|
Benjamin Arms' épée cups are exact copies of antique fencing weapons from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Before this time, cups mounted on dueling swords were much smaller in diameter, more similar to Benjamin Arms' spun circular guard. For unknown reasons épée cups got much bigger. Some épée cups were offset like those by Maestros Aurelio and Agesilao Greco to better protect the back of the hand and arm when fencing Italian épée. Dimensions: Diameter - 5 inches Depth - 2 inches Thickness – 18 gauge mild steel, <1/16th” Hand-made cushioned épée pads for these guards can be purchased in the "Extras" catalogue of the shop here. This guard can be found on some of our épée designs or could be built onto any customized epee at no additional cost! --- All Benjamin Arms guards have a 1/4” square hole in their centers to be mounted around most foil blades. Additional filing of this hole or the tang of the blade may need to occur to ensure proper mounting.
