Scuola Mista Foil
|
The scuola mista, or mixed school foil was designed for use in the northern Italian system of fencing which incorporated elements of French fencing theory. The blade's length remained Italian, though the Italian hilt assembly and quillions were removed in favor of a French grip. The guard was circular and dished shaped. What characterized these scuola mista foils was a loop of rounded steel fit inside the curvature between either the index or middle fingers. This gave great control over the weapon and mimicked in its small way the traditional hilt design of an Italian foil while also integrating the dexterity of a French grip. The scuola mista foils produced by Benjamin Arms are a static product and will not run out of stock. They have our spun circular guard, a #5 foil blade and a steel martingale. Both an ambidextrous or flared French grip is appropriate for a Scuola Mista foil. Pad color and pommel type (conical or faceted urn) are customizable to the user. This weapon also provides a $15 discount towards a hand-made Three Weapon Bag, normally priced at $64.95 and a 15% discount towards a Practice Target! --- Looking for something a little different? Customize your own weapon here! Benjamin Arms builds by hand each weapon to order. No two weapons will ever be identical. The grips are made individually, the pommels selected for balance and the blade hand picked for quality. Building these weapons by hand takes time; no weapon can be carefully crafted for a human hand expediently. Please refer to our FAQ for order, shipping and return policies.
