George Santelli, Inc. – American Fencing Equipment Supplier

Giorgio Santelli established his fencing supply in 1942. The company was named and incorporated as the United States Fencing Equipment Company in 1947. In 1955 the name changed again to George Santelli, Inc. with Giorgio as President and his wife Betty as Vice President. They specialized in all manner of fencing equipment from weaponry, jackets, masks, plastrons and more. They did not produce their own blades but instead contracted an exclusive line of “Santelli” marked fencing blades. The blades carrying the “Santelli” mark therefore also have a county of origin mark outside the US. The exact contracted forge is yet unknown. The company continued as a family business after George’s death in 1985 but ultimately went bankrupt in 2004 after 62 years of business.
