Joseph Vince

Joseph Vince – Early 1900s New York Fencing Equipment Supplier

Mr. Vince was the 1925 United States sabre champion and established his fencing supply house in New York City. He stocked around 130 parts and products ranging from blades, masks, gloves, jackets and more. His catalog features blades bearing marks from Brunon, Coulaux, Pion-Lion, Soudet and Prieur, alongside his own brand of blades made in Italy and Japan. Vince blades are simply marked “Joseph Vince.”

“Our Equipment so far unknown to the American fencing public, is imported from France, Italy, Hungary and England. The weapons are assembled and balanced under the personal supervision of Mr. Vince, United States Sabre Champion on 1925.” (Catalog circa 1930)
